General Conference Weekend

General Conference weekend has been one of my favourite weekend as long as I can remember. Not only I get to be instructed by prophets and apostles but I get to relax. No worries about church, homework, or anything. I remembered when I used to live in California, we would drive up here during conference weekend and drive back Sunday right after conference. It was fun! Mission reunions, family reunions, and touring the SLC Church sites were one of the many events we did during general conference. Even when Danny and I got engaged we would go up and we would take food and sit out on the lawn and have a little picnic and listen to conference. That was always fun. Since we have been married, we tried to go up either on Saturday or Sunday but this year, we decided that we would just stay home. Big part of that was the weather. We weren't sure if it was going to rain and it was still a bit cold. So what we did was make up our own fun at home. Friday night we had a slumber party in our living room. We brought our king size mattress out to the living room and had movies night. The next morning (Saturday) Danny woke up early and made us a big breakfast.

Then, Danny and Malik played around with the diapers on their heads and anything they could find in Malik's room while we waited for the 1st session to start.

SUNDAY SESSION!

We had another slumber part in our living room. It was so much fun that we almost didn't wake up for the first Sunday session. But we were able to watch conference together as a family and had bbq for lunch and dinner. Right after conference we took Malik to the "Dug Pond" by BYU. Malik was able to feed the dugs with bread. It was so fun to watch him chasing the dugs around and when we would throw bread or cookies for the dugs, he would get really upset at us:)
After spending few minutes with the dugs, we walked around on these beatiful trails above the dug pond. With all the years that I have lived here in Provo, I had no idea about these trails around campus. It's so beautiful especially for Sunday walks. The trees and different plants were so green and just so beautiful. The landscaping was gorgeous too. There is also little sitting area and picnic tables and stuff. Danny, Malik, and I walked around and we also went around campus looking at new buildings that had built a year or so ago. All I have to say is that BYU is one beautiful campus! Danny and I agreed that we would make this a little family tradition every Sunday to come and feed the dugs and walk around on these trails.

What a lovely weekend! Grateful for all the messages we heard during conference.
