June 2009 - The Blessing of our Home

When I was little, I remembered after my parents built out house in Vava'u, Tonga, my dad had few of our relatives over and our church leaders and we blessed it that the house will always be safe and that the Spirit will always dwell in our home. It was a nice, comfortable home for our little family. I had so much fun memories in that house!

So, as soon as we moved into our home, I talked to Danny about blessing our home. We didn't want to do anything big so we settled with inviting our immediate families and will host a family home evening and had a little refreshement and then bless our home. Since my parents are in the Bay area, we just invited Danny's families over. We started with a family home evening conducted by Danny. He welcomed everyone into our little home and I gave a little short lesson then we shared our experience with purchasing our home. There were some tears shed just thinking about the things that were challenging and just know that this was truly a blessing from Heavenly Father. We couldn't have done it without his help! We knew that there is a reason why we were able to buy the house. Then, Danny's dad, Dave, blessed our home. It was a great feeling afterward to know that our home had been blessed so that its safe for us to live it. Afterward, we had some bbq meat that Danny prepared and other great food that Danny's family brought.



Below are some pictures of Malik showing us how to cross our legs. The funny thing is when you tell him to cross his legs, he runs to the closest thing he can find so that he can lean on it while crossing his legs, its pretty funny to watch but he is cute!
