Malik's 9 months Check Up

Today, it was Malik's 9 months check up. Both Danny and I took him in. I have to say it was a little better than the other visits we have had in the past. We didn't have to wait that long before Malik was called. But when we walked up to the nurse she told us that we were going to see another doctor, I insisted that we saw our doctor, Dr. Farnsworth, since Malik has been seeing him since he was born. Luckily Dr. Farnswroth was available and they were able to squeeze us in to see him. Malik was pretty much in the 95th percentile or above with his length and weight. The doctor told us that his head size, length, and weight was all good and he is growing so well. The doctor also told us that Malik is a bright little baby since Malik would constantly pull on his laptop and other tools he had which was pretty funny and he confirmed with us that we constantly watch him at home so he doesn't get into things that he shouldn't be in (water, electric wire, sharp edge furniture, etc). The doctor gave me the 2 thumbs up when he found out that I'm still breastfeeding Malik. He also asked us what we feed him with, and he was surprised to know that for the most part is just breast milk and baby food. He had thought that we had fed him with meat which he told us to wait it out because there is no real need to do so now. The doctor also told us that Malik's iron is normal but he could use more which mean I have to feed him his baby cereal often. Malik got 2 shots today and one was scheduled for tomorrow because they didn't have it in stock. Malik was pretty strong about it. He looked surprised when he got pinched but started laughing which really shocked me and Danny. The rest of the time we spent playing on the little kids scale. On our way out we scheduled for his 12 months check up which reminded me of how fast the time has gone by. The check up was basically good and both Danny and I are so happy that he is healthy and everything is good with our baby, Malik.

wow.. I can't believe 9 months already. He is such a chunky one. He is so cute and it seems like he just gets cuter as he grows. Haini always calls him Baby Buddha. I love how he is even trying to play with the scale. You guys make cute babies. Ready for another one? Whoa!!!!

He is a chunk, I love it! And I love Dr. Farnsworth, he's Spencer's doc too. And yes, you get two thumbs up and more for still breastfeeding. So good! Dr. Farnsworth told me the same thing at Spencer's 9 mo.--to keep the rice cereal coming, even though his iron was really good. I took that advice to heart and fed Spencer rice cereal every morning, even though by the time he was 9 mo., he didn't like it anymore. The trick was to feed him the solid food he did want and scoop in the rice cereal in between. :)
