8th Month Letter

Dear Son,

You are now 8 months. I can't believe that in 4 months you will be a year old. That's crazy! Life will never be the same for both your dad and I. We love having you and we want you to know that. You still haven't crawled yet but you will pretty soon. You sit straight up and you loving doing that. And, you are getting so strong because now I need your dad to help me when I change your diaper. You are making a lot of noises now. I think it's cute especially when you make that noise when you are blowing your saliva out. If only I know what you are talking about. And, the cutest thing is that you are blowing out your saliva and you are smiling at the same time. I don't know where you got it from but it's so cute. You are still sleeping with us in bed and we love it because we love having you close to us.You also love to sleep on your tummy now. If I put in bed on your back, within minutes you roll on your tummy and snore away like your dad :). I could put you in bed on your stomach but I am just scared might you suffocate. And, when you sleep on your tummy, both your dad and I check on you like every 5 minutes or so to make sure you are still breathing. You have 2 cute little teeth right next to each other at the bottom of your front jaw. It looks really cute when you smile. And, they are straight and from the look of it you probably won't need braces. With food, you love sweet potatoes, sweet corns, peaches, banana, turkey dinner, gerber puffs, rice cereal, and especially ice-cream. And, you are still breastfed and I am planning to do so until you are one. You still haven't gotten sick yet. I mean you have a little cough here and there but nothing serious. You absolutely love when you are outside. Your eyes lid up and you have a huge smile on your face and you laugh and very jumpy. I love it!
You are now starting to know us more. I notice this because when other people want to hold you, you cry to come back to either me or your dad. And if one holds you, all of a sudden you look up and see us you immediately cry to come back to us. We just love the fact that you now really know your mommy and daddy. Son, I can't even say it enough how much we love you. And, we tell you everytime we hold you how much we love you and we kiss you and hug you as if you can reply back to what we are saying. We still call you bubbah instead of Malik and you respond to bubbah. Your dad is to blame for that one...:)
Your hair is getting thick each day and we still can't figure out if you will have curly hair or kinda straight like mommy's hair. You look more and more like your daddy but I have to say I am happy that you have my dimples. Well, I have one on each side of my cheeks and you did too when you were born, but you now have 2 dimples on your right side next to each other. That's probably about it that you will get from me but it's cute....
Few days ago, I got accepted to BYU graduate school for this Fall, 2008. I am excited but I am scared I won't have enough time with you. I know it's going to be a challenge working full time, going to school full time, and other responsibilities but your dad and I went to the temple and we both felt good about the decision for me to go back to school.
Son, I want you to know how much I love you. I think about you all the time when I am at work. Everyday I am excited to come home so I can see you and play with you and hug you and kiss you.... At times I get exhausted from work but I always make time to play with you and make sure you are fed, cleaned up, and taken care of before I rest. I just love you so much and want nothing but the best for you. I know your dad does too. It's been a wonderful 8 months with you even thought it was hard at times. Both your dad and I love you so much. You are the cutest little baby boy we know....

So much love from your mommy,
Vika

here are some pictures of you on your 8 months bday...

Congrats on getting into grad school Vika! I know from experience it will be hard to be in school with a little baby, but it will definitely be worth it. :) And the best part is that you have a loving Father in Heaven and a husband at your side to support you. Go Cougars! :)
