Fireworks with Malik

Last night right after we got done shopping for Father's day we headed over to Orem Days at Center Street to watch the fireworks. Traffics were really bad on Center Street and there were tonnes of people on both sides of the street. We were heading to the Police Station on Center Street but we ended up at a Church about 2 blocks east of the Police Station. Danny and I couldn't stand the traffics so we thought that the Church would be less crowded. We were surprised that there were quite a lot of families already set up at the church lawn. We finally got a little space behind the church and got settled with our blankets, lavalava, and camping chairs. Malik was so excited to be outside and to see kids playing around where we were at. It was so much fun to be able to do this as a family. We just laid down on the grass and relaxed as we awaited the fireworks. A little after 10pm, the fireworks started. I didn't really think that Malik would notice but oh boy, was I wrong? The noise just startled him and he looked around to see where it came from. I pointed to the fireworks up in the sky and he was all excited and just smiled as he stared away. I couldn't believe that as young as he is could see out that far.
We watched the fireworks for probably about 10-15 minutes and we left so that we could beat traffics. As we drove away, Malik were looking around to see if he could still see the fireworks. So, Danny pulled over to the side of the road so that Malik could see the finale before we took off. I was so glad that we were able to spend to night as a family and to watch the fireworks with Malik. I am now looking forward to the 4th of July knowing that Malik will love the fireworks.

Our pics from this event will be posted later...(cuz i'm at work :))

I finally had time to post my pics from the fireworks... enjoy!!!

We saw the same fireworks except for we were waiting in line to ride the kiddy motorcycles and Sitani was more concerned with them. Fun. I can't wait for the 4th. We always go sit up by the temple and watch Stadium of Fire. Your lil bubba is getting so big. He is so cute with his chub cheeks and big ole eyes.
